DAY 1|TOKYO (ARRIVAL)

Arrival in Tokyo, meet with an English-speaking assistant and transfer to your hotel by private coach. Hotel in Tokyo.

DAY 2|TOKYO

Meet with an English-speaking guide at the hotel, then begin a full-day of sightseeing in Tokyo by private coach. You will visit: the observatory of the Metropolitan Government of Tokyo Shinjuku, which offers a beautiful view of the whole city; Meiji Jingu shrine located within a stunning city park; and you will continue to the districts of Omotesando and Harajuku. In the afternoon, the private coach will take you to Asakusa Sensoji Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo dedicated to Asakusa Kannon.
A short walk away is the Nakamise, a shopping district full of little stalls and shops selling traditional souvenirs and sweets. We will continue to Ginza, the most stylish fashion district in Tokyo. Hotel in Tokyo.

DAY 3| TOKYO - FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO – MATSUMOTO

Meet with your English-speaking guide in the morning and travel by private coach. Your first stop will be the scenic lake Kawaguchi, where you can enjoy breath-taking views of Mount Fuji. Transfer to Matsumoto. Photo stop at Matsumoto castle, which is a beautiful and perfectly preserved Japanese-style castle built in the 16th century. Visit Shuzo, a Japanese sake brewery, where you can enjoy sampling sake. Hotel in Matsumoto.

DAY 4| MATSUMOTO - TAKAYAMA - SHIRAKAWAGO – KANAZAWA

Meet with your English-speaking guide in the morning and travel by private coach. Enjoy free time in Takayama walking around the old town and visit Takayama Jinya. Due to its previously inaccessible location nestled high in the mountainous Hida alpine region, this beautifully preserved old town was cut off from the rest of Japan, allowing it to develop its own unique culture. Transfer to Shirakawago. You will have free time to explore a region declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995. Visit Wada-ke, one of famous for its traditional Gassho-zukuri farmhouses. The roofs, made without nails, provide a large attic space used for cultivating silkworms. Arrive at Kanazawa. Hotel in Kanazawa.

DAY 5| KANAZAWA – OSAKA

Meet with your English-speaking guide and begin with a sightseeing tour of Kanazawa by private coach. You will visit Kenrokuen, rightly classified as one of Japan’s three most beautiful landscape gardens. You will also visit Higashi-chayatown, a former geisha house district. Departure for Osaka. Hotel in Osaka.

DAY 6|OSAKA - KYOTO - OSAKA

Meet with your English-speaking guide and embark on a full-day excursion of the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto, by private coach. Visit: Fushimi-Inari which is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, Kinkakuji temple, the “temple of the Golden Pavilion” covered entirely with gold leaf. In the afternoon, you will visit Nijo castle, former residence of the Tokugawa Shogun and the Gion geisha district. Hotel in Osaka.

DAY 7|OSAKA - NARA - ISE

We will deposit your bags (1 per person) at the hotel reception in Osaka.
Suitcases will be sent directly to your hotel in Tokyo. Please prepare a carry-on bag with overnight supplies. Meet with your English-speaking guide and explore Nara, the first capital of Japan, by private coach.
Visit Todaiji temple, famous for its giant bronze statue of Buddha. Enjoy a Sushi making experience (lunch included). Transfer to Ise. Hotel in Ise or nearby.

DAY 8|ISE -TOKYO

Meet with your English-speaking guide and visit Ise Jingu shrine, the most sacred Shinto shrine and Okage Yokocho, a traditional market street in front of the shrine. Depart for Nagoya and take the Shinkansen train to Tokyo or Shinagawa. Hotel in Tokyo.

DAY 9|TOKYO - NARITA AIRPORT

Transfer to Narita Airport with an English-speaking assistant by private coach.
